BABA dRAMa DEV

buy Gabapentin over the counter

Jasło Mr. Ram Krishna Yadav/Baba Ramdev is the main protagonist in the ongoing national circus. To add to his absurd list of demands, he has taken to  fighting against black money with spuriously acquired wealth.

After the Ramlila fiasco, Baba by his own admission to TV, said that he excused himself to change clothes and then ran away. Later he was found on stage after which he jumped into the crowd of followers and also changed into women clothes to hide himself. A person who jumped into a group of women and girl volunteers, to shield himself from the Police. A person who left all his aides to the tender mercies of the cops while running away personally. A person finally arrested dressed as a woman , skulking outside a railway station. What a leader! This is the country’s savior?!!

Another gem came from Baba aide Devendra Sharma who said that Baba did sign a deal with the government saying that he would not hold any political demonstration or hunger fast but only a Yoga Shivir. However Sharma went on to say that this was a ‘tactical move’ to  ‘fool’  the government so that they could go ahead with the fast on the sly. Unfortunately Baba also ended up fooling the 30,000 assembled at Ramlila Maidan who were unaware of this and the associated danger of possible police action.

On a lighter note, here are some of the best cartoons on the web related to Baba..

  1. What Ramdev ideally should had done in situation like that?if not running then wht? This is the country’s savior?!Savior does not mean to always come forward with sword and fight …u know what i wanna say….He is currently at the situation that increasing his earning by 10 times more cannot change his living standard….if u say yes then in wht way…..??everytime people come forward to do something good …elemnts like u try to spoil them….even u know black money should be brought to india then why….?do u think there exist any other way to get it back????do u think congress can do if not pressurised??u are very god at cartoons …utilise ur potential in right direction….think before working….it’s not always necessary to prove others wrong for proving urself right…. constitution made in 1950s by few minds should be followed blindly…Isn’t it blind patriotism?may be that could have been the best constitution in that situation but can it remain gud forever????have a gud day dear!!

    1. @b1664c303650c0d86717c3f482dc47ac:disqus  We agree that nothing & no one should be followed blindly, including Baba Ramdev. We felt that it was wrong on his part to keep 30,000 people gathered for him in the dark & then only care about his own escape. Maybe the best way to get back black money is for Baba Ramdev to fool the government & his followers. We do not know. Baba knows best.
P.S – The cartoons our not ours. The sources are mentioned below each cartoon.

      1.  Well…Look at the congress or govt and you see handful of people controlling the state even without having slightest capability of doing so…how are they doing so? They are not very moving orators like for instance Hitler, nor do they share even an iota of morality or honesty with the Mahatma whose name they are carrying forward, look at the history of family, countless deceits, unfathomable frauds and unimaginable crimes, so why should they remain in power, shouldn’t someone come forward to change it all? Someone having the willpower and courage to do so. Well someone should, the whole country is crying for it since last few decades, and who is it going to be?
Well a Yog-guru with absolutely no prior knowledge or connections with politics, seems to be a better choice than all the other polluted minded politicians, but you can’t expect him to go jail and get beaten up. He is not Gandhiji who will willingingly go to jail with his followers or would stop the movement on the slightest deviation from his moral ethics even when he was not himself involved in it, but at least this guy is trying to do something, atleast he is trying to tell the poor and deprived people that they are being cheated, we have access to all the resources but still at least 60% of our population is living in villages who don’t know even a bit of what all is going on in the parliament, if hunger strike is a way to do it, then let it be, we all know that he is politically motivated, but a villager would not understand this, for a common man Baba seems to be a better choice than politicians.
I’m not saying that he is absolutely unstained in his deeds, but what choice does a rural man has,who has to work day and night for his meals? He will obviously follow the Baba or Anna Hazare JI. I understand that this blog is for mockery of every political movement, beacause you can always find right and wrong things in a mass movement, you know it, but if a man who is working for a cause which is being mocked by you read it wouldn’t it take him/her head-on.
So try to find a solution cause I believe u have enough knowledge of facts and figures in politics.
Don’t give general solutions, like make a community and spread knowledge in the less resourable people of society, because u already know that there are more than 300 million NGOs in our country 😉

P.S. : I’m having tea while posting this reply :p whats wrong in having a tea while expressing your views…

        1. @facebook-1025001535:disqus  –  We have no issues with Ramdev toppling the government and taking their place. But the single most effective method of doing that would be through the ballot and not hunger strikes. Maybe someday in the future we will see that. There is only so much that can be achieved through hunger strikes. Infact if there is such confidence that entire rural India is with Baba, this is just a matter of time. Currently Baba is a part of civil society. We do not believe in looking at  ”civil society” as a faultless unquestionable entity. Hence we post about them similar to how we post about politicians & political parties.

          – All political parties without exception begin with noble intentions to ”serve” the people. Unfortunately at some point, the politicians involved dilute this cause. Baba Ramdev may appear to you as a person who is incorruptible but we do not see him in the same light. A few of the reasons are there in our posts. A few more he gives us with statements like his 11,000 man army statement.

          – We agree with you that the blog could be offensive to people involved in various movements. However we have written far more scathing posts about politicians & political parties. We do not see any reason in picking only on political parties/politicians.

          – Nowhere does WahSarkar claim to exist to bring about any sort of reform. It is just a blog like a million others. We clearly say that we are a satirical blog. We are free to air our opinions like anyone else in the country and that is all we claim to do & intend to do going forward.

          – The tea/coffee statement was only in response to a rant in a prior comment 🙂

          1. Friends, always support a just cause. We are the leaders in corruption.Corruption is eating our country like a termite. At least some one has the guts to openly oppose it.Only a few corrupt are ruling  us and we dont have the guts to oppose it.There is an old Russian joke. Some one asked a Russian what is your happiest day.He said when  a police officer knocks your door and says,MR xyz, you are under arrest, and i say sorry officer,MR xyz stays next door.So friends, support a good cause, and don’t wait for the day when the BAD MAN,makes your life hell.Good Luck friends.

          2. BALLOT cant be understood by everyone, how to explain
1.taking help of maoists to win as in bengal, when they are trying to finish BALLOT democracy.
2.Loosing more seats than winning against CPM in kerala, but usurping power through MUSLIM LEAGUE by Pampering fundamentalists ‘OSAMAJI’ and galvanizing support from gulf through ‘AL QAEDA FINANCIERS’.

  2. WHY ARE U PEOPLE DIVIDED ON THIS. THIS IS WHAT THE GOVERNMENT WANTS. EVEN IF RAMDEV WANTS TO COME IN POLITICS WHY SHOULDNT HE. GOVERNMENT SAYING THAT BABA SHOULD DO WHAT HE DOES, BUT PRIOR TO THAT THE GOVERNMENT SHOULD DO WHAT IT IS SUPPOSED TO DO. RAMDEV ASKS PEOPLE MONEY AND TEACHES THEM SOMETHING IN RETURN, AND THE MONEY HE GETS IS GIVEN TO HIM UNDER FULL TRANSPARENCY–THAT U GIVE ME THIS MUCH ILL TEACH U THIS OR ILL TREAT U FROM THIS. WHATS WRONG WITH THAT !!!!!!  HES BEEN DOING IT SINCE LIKE LAST 10 YEARS. NO GOVERNMENT QUESTIONED HIM DURING ALL THIS TIME, AND NOW THAT HES STANDING AGAINST THEM THEY ARE SEARCHING EVERY NOOK AND CORNER TO SQUASH HIM.
THIS BLOG SEEMS MERELY FOR PEOPLE WHO WANT TO HAVE HAVE LAUGH OVER A SIP OF TEA OR COFFEE AND DECLARE THEMSELVES COOL.
THIS IS AN ERA OF ULTRA FAST COMMUNICATION (MEDIA & INTERNET) AND ITS THE RIGHT TIME WHEN THIS ISSUE HAS BEEN LIFTED UP. BUT PLEASE ITS MY REQUEST TO YOU NOT TO SPOIL IT RATHER TO WRITE SOMETHING TO MAKE PEOPLE UNITED AGAINST CORRUPTION. WHATEVER MOCKERY U ARE MAKING HERE JUST LEAVE IT OR SAVE IT FOR SOMETIME. WE DONT WANT TO LAUGH OVER THIS ISSUE. WHY DONT U WRITE ABOUT WHAT THE GOVT & POLICE DID TO ALL THOSE THOUSAND PEOPLE FASTING ON 4TH. ?
WHAT I SEE IS THAT RAMDEV DIDNT PLAY IT SAFE . ANNA JI HAS BEEN TAKING EVERY STEP MATURELY  & ALSO WANRED RAMDEV OF GOVERNMENTS INTENTIONS. BUT UNFORTUNATELY RAMDEV FELL FOR THE TRAP AND BLOGGERS LIKE YOU ARE LOOKING AT THE SITUATION WEARING TINTED GLASSES.

DONT SPOIL IT BROTHER. LETS UNITE !!!!!!

    1. – We have no issues with Baba coming into politics. But he can’t seem to make up his mind. He wanted to form a political party to contest every seat in the country but it seems when hunger strikes became fashionable, he decided to try his hand at this.

      – We have no issues with Baba earning any amount of money even if he masquerades as an ascetic. However if he wishes to lead a nationwide campaign against ill gotten money, it would be nice to know that he doesn’t have any ill gotten money, islands or land.

      – We have written nothing in favour of corrupti0n here. We have not mocked any of the victims of 4th night here, just their transvestite cowardly leader.

      – Unfortunately we can wear any glasses we wish to, even if they show us that Ramdev is not a God.

      – Did you indulge in tea or coffee while commenting?

    1. I’m sorry to say but you highly underestimate the lokpal bill. This one bill is the best thing that ever happened to mankind. It will remove corruption from every corner in the country. All newborns will henceforth be incorruptible and India will become a superpower within 3 months of the bill being passed.

  3. This is just broggadocio !!!!!!!!!
These 640 people shud follow anna coz its the right time to bring out some change. Dont follow this wahsarkaar mudslinging. You all love your 9-5 job, suits n ties, laptops n mobiles and corruption just dissapears over a cup of coffee or a puff of cigarete. But when somebody is trying to to something, anything we should suport or else never indulge in debates over coruption or any attrocities by government for that matter. What are u trying to prove here wahsarkar ????? Are u really mature enough to write this all, coz u dont seem to be so. The calling of time is to UNITE.

    1. Have responded to the same rant in another post. https://www.wahsarkar.com/2011/06/annanomics-an-analysis-of-india%E2%80%99s-hunger-strike-industry/

  4. Good cartoons , but does this absolves us of our duty to fight for corruption free India ? No doubt some of the ideas & solutions of Baba Ramdev on tackling with black money are silly & absurd and can appeal to illiterates only ..BUT he is no economist and trying to reject the real issue of corruption & black money on this personality flaws excuse is equally absurd ! Let’s admit the problem & find out practical solutions rather then just rediculing someone. BUT expecting this from the people whose link you have posted would be foolish as ,whether you noticed it or not, the site is © Diggiprove !

    1. @ea5d05cd586e9008fb67479294c6ae96:disqus  Nowhere have we absolved the citizens of their duty to fight corruption. Frankly speaking we are no half-wit transvestite cowardly Baba who can influence you to do so.  Let’s hope that Kalmadi & Raja start anti-corruption campaigns when they are out of jail so that we can join them as well. All that is needed for an anti corruption leader is an iota of a noble though in some corner of the mind. Why bother about ulterior motives? Also the Digiprove has nothing to do with.. oh never mind.. Let’s all cry REVOLUTION together at the top of our voices and pat ourselves on our backs for killing corruption. That is all that is needed anyway.

  5. Sorry to say this is the worst Blog I ever Read, its intention is to 1) Lampoon & defame Baba Ramdev 2) Create a difference between Ramdev & Annaji ..3) Weaken the Anti-Corruption movement. 4) Hindi speaking baba is fool and don’t knw anything about Modern India
The only point I agree is Baba Ramdev lacks Leadership Quality she should have stayed there and got arrested…. (But you never know the intention of corrupt People he could have lost life..but for Whom)…Next time try to write something on the Corrupt Politicians who are looting the tax payer hard earned money. Highlight the intention of Govt to divide & Rule by fooling innocent people

    1. @97c8e5a507b1d2b8b337f621ebe40e2e:disqus  1) Lampoon him Yes. We are too small to defame him.
      2) There already is. Hazare is completely opposed to Ramdev’s ”army” buffoonery and a few other points.
      3) Only questioning and not blindly following.
      4) If you say so.

We have written plenty on corrupt politicians. Please go through old posts.

  6. Galati kya hai

    1.Do not break section 144

    2.No jail bharo

    3.No politician on the stage

    4.No bandha

    5.No gherao

If u do legal thing , U do galati

In Singapore public rallies are allowed closed door, in a stadium

. Here Baba was doing inside a Pandal.

Only a true leader follows rules ,Only real followers go for NON-VIOLENCE, Ramdev should be saluted for that.

    1. @f75380bded821b1b36f8bacc44b76834:disqus Galti to insaan se hoti hai. Baba to Bhagwaan hai. 11,000 ki sena bana ke Non Violence preach karne waale.

      1. Sena ko kya RAW wale arms supply karenge. Yahan ISI nahi hai . Police se illegal action rokne ke liye . Baba ne kaha ladies ke saath bahut bura saluk hua. Kai jindagiyan barbad ho gayi . Sonia ke dainik dihadi wale pradhanmantri kahte hain ‘BAHUT BURA HUA’ Lekin mai ‘BHRASTA NAHI HUN’.

  7. Just one thing I would like to point out. In your view Baba Ramdev is not worth to be a leader because he fled the scene wearing clothes of a woman. Fine. Why are you wasting your time here? Come out in open public domain/arena and lead the agitation thereby setting an example. For your information, it is easier to point fingers on others, but very difficult when you are leading a cause. God Bless You.

    1. Thank you for your blessings. Unfortunately nowhere do we claim to be India’s saviors or some sort of Yogic Gods with an agenda to serve the country so we will be unable to fulfill your request. However we are delighted that you considered us worthy of setting an example. We also apologize for the time you must have wasted in writing this comment. Surely you could have completed a couple of farce hunger strikes instead!!

  8. Wah sarkar is anti  secular site …. hence it is there right to defame Hindu Saints in watsoever manner 🙂   plz defame our freedom fighters who took muslim dresses, cut there beards etc …. nd yes if some muslim saint was doing this (however they donn hav the guts doing this ) wah sarkar could never posted this comments with funny captions

    Jai Hind

    1. The only “anti-secular” thing on this page is your comment. There is no mention of religion anywhere in the entire article. Unfortunately narrow minded bigots like yourself are unable to look beyond the religion of a person. Wake up. Even your Barbie Ramdev would be ashamed of your ignorance.

  9. I don’t have much faith in Ramdev’s economics, but I applaud the way he has brought up the corruption issue. With his clout, he could just have done some vibhuti tricks (gold ring tricks for rich disciples), like the other baba. He could have looked the other way (and winked) when the country was being looted. He didn’t. I have much respect for him. He is rich. Agreed, but being rich is not a crime. Many rich people have become richer conniving with the powers that be. Baba Ramdev is not one of them. Ever since 4 June, CBI, ED and IRS have been trying hard to find Ramdev’s illegal wealth and black money and land scams and what not. Have they found anything? If CBI, ED and IRS had spent so much of investigation time probing our MPs and MLAs, we could have recovered lakhs of crore by now.

Your blog is good, but please don’t make fun of a person whose clean motives are never in doubt.

BTW, I am a Hindu atheist.

    1. Agree that the cause is great. However we are free to question the motive & method of functioning of anyone from Mayawati to Baba Ramdev. Just being ”civil society” or appearing to be an ascetic does not mean that the person/association is beyond question. However this is just an opinion & of course you are free to differ.

  10. Wahsarkar dont call yourself apolitical. Baba Ramdev caught the imagination of the masses which is an anathema for our Hindu hating commies. Who is doing ghost writing these cheap articles.  Do you know the meaning of a transvestite? Ramdev has been campaigning against black money for past 5 yrs unless someone forgot to flip his channels

These gutter level insinuations can only be the refined regurgitations of the  commie-jihadi class – where are you scumbags hiding?

    1. We are too afraid to face the shahstras & shastras, so we are hiding on an island in Scotland (bought with white money for white man to do yoga under guidance of brown bearded transvestite). Well done to Barbie Ramdev for catching the imagination of the masses. The Ramlila was also performed well. 5 star performance.

      1. Attacking a sanyasin is easy because he shall not retaliate in word or kind, even someone as unconventional as Ramdev. Digvijay called him a thug which gave  people like you the moral and legal approbation in going ahead with writing the kind of trash and caricature and all these silly accusations which hold no water whatsoever. In your article and comments, Wahsarkar has accused  Ramdev to be a transvestite, accused him of acquiring wealth spuriously, called him a political opportunist, and that he masquerades as an ascetic (in other words, Wahsarkar accuses Ramdev of being a fraud) In doing so, Wahsarkar does not produce a shred of evidence to backup their claims. All these are products of objectionable and totalitarian minds.

Baba has said that if he is found to have any black money, declare it national property. Baba still sleeps on the floor and subsists entirely on fruit and milk.  How many politicians in India can publicly match him in making such a fearless and  generous declaration. (irrespective of party lines)  Wahsarkar cannot even declare the real ownership of this website, can it

        1. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  – We are free to ”attack” whoever we want. We have criticized Mayawati, the government, BJP, Civil Society, Barbie Ramdev etc. in the same manner. It is our choice. Please let us know where we have condoned Digvijay Singh’s behavior.
          – This is a satirical blog and not a formal published thesis. So you can wipe your tears. Barbie DramaDev will not be indicted based on anything here.
          – The Enforcement Directorate is currently investigating numerous facets of DramaDev’s empire. Also there are numerous accusations against him by everyone including peer babas. You may see him as a demi-god. We choose to not.
          – Your fruit & milk statement blew us away. We were not aware that Barbie was SO great. WOW! Forget politicians in India, noone in the world could survive on fruit & milk. Unfortunately it is sad that despite such talent Barbie couldn’t even keep a fast for 1 week. Lesser babas have managed for much much longer with their fasts.
          – We have already told you where we are. Come to Scotland. You can use Barbie’s private charter.

          1. I told you before that is very easy “mocking” a Hindu sanyasin as they never retaliate in word or kind. Ramdev’s fast and collapse was called a Nautanki (DrAmA) by Digvijay
Singh and in this blogpost (mockpost) you have just been faithfully echoing his voice. You have made completely baseless and unsubstantiated allegations against Ramdev. Yes, you also criticized Mayawati but in that post you built your case based upon some proof gathered through RTI queries and some other “evidences”. In contrast, in the case of Ramdev, you have been vituperative and slanderous and painted a travesty of a man who is revered by millions of Hindus based on NO proof but so called pending investigations by the ED which is still facing SC’s flak in the Hassan Ali case. Is there a single court of law where a prima facie case against Ramdev exists? Then how can you slander him – the sexual slander (transvestite) is especially pernicious considering he is a celibate sanyasin. For a sanyasin, sexual reputation is everything and you seem keen to tarnish that!

Ramdev could have remained indifferent to the corruption around him. He could have remained faithful to the govt. and continued to be popular and rich like many religious leaders. He was enjoying unprecedented TRPs on TV – over 30 million tune daily to his yoga program. Hobnobbing with the govt. would have ensured greater tax benefits and prestige.
But there is something good, something refreshingly different in this man which made him revolt against the idea of submitting to a system which robs the poor of their last bit of dignity only to expand the corrupt coffers in  foreign banks. I am not a great believer in Ayurveda, neither can I subscribe to Hatya Yoga being a panacea for all our illnesses. But still I respect him for popularizing Yoga among all classes of people, making it so much more accessible practically. The Iyengars and other may be more popular, may be more authentic but they did little for Yoga in India especially its spread among the lowly middle classes and the sublatern

Again, in a democratic country, I do make an endorsement of your right to criticize public figures but to humiliate a sanyasin by passing lewd comments over his sexuality and morality is disturbing. In my opinion, this kind of intolerant mindset in India is a feature common to degenerated communists who also condone Islamic fundamentalism ; categories I hope you don’t belong or subscribe to either. That you never criticize communists is obvious and hints at your political leanings but to support an ideology is very different from losing one’s conscience which is exacyly what you have done when you accused the Baba of things you should have not. Yes, you have every right to disagree with his methods, his ideologies and his yoga and ayurveda but you cannot call someone a fraud only in order to gratify your anti saffron itch, especially in absence of evidence.

My criticism might have its own shortcomings. Delete my posts if you consider them inappropriate but I hope my message went through and you would reconsider what you have been writing.  Hope for better wisdom to dawn on everyone involved.

            1. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  – Supporters of Ramdev may not agree with this blog. That is justified. Similarly supporters of a political party or politician may not agree with ”mocking” of their party or leader. We clearly state we are a satirical blog. Any comments with regard to Ramdev being a transvestite are in complete jest — emanating from his cowardly escape dressed as a woman from the Ramlila ground.  This should be fairly obvious. However if you are unable to take this as humor, we apologize to you for hurting your sentiments & request you to refrain from reading this blog in the future. Unfortunately we do not see him as a noble sanyansi.

              – The Mayawati post deals more with figures. In the case of Ramdev we have based our opinion on numerous exposes that have been around for years. Here are just a few of them http://indiatoday.intoday.in/site/story/sadhus-demand-probe-into-assets-of-baba-ramdev/1/130557.html
              http://www.outlookindia.com/printarticle.aspx?270745
              http://ibnlive.in.com/news/ramdev-charges-for-blessings-exfollowers/158028-3.html
              http://www.tehelka.com/story_main49.asp?filename=Ws140611RamdevBaba.asp

Moreover we find it absurd that a man ”fighting” black money had to be forced to declare the assets of his own empire & despite that he hid more than he showed during his declarations. This despite there being many accusations against him for years. Intention is one thing but surely if D.Raja starts an anti corruption campaign tomorrow we can not support it purely because of ”good intentions”.

              – We have absolutely no issues with Ramdev’s yoga despite even Iyengar subtly criticizing Ramdev’s methods.

              – We have absolutely no issues with any political intentions of Ramdev. But only till he does not disguise them under the garb of ”civil society” as he seems to be doing.

              – Another small example of the Sanyasi’s ”austerity” for you. Here is the membership page of Patanjali Yogpeeth. http://pyptdonation.divyayoga.com/index.php?cPath=21
Our ”noble sanyansi” clearly demarcates based on money. More the money more the ”dignity” it seems. Such facts along with absurd claims, remedies (demonetizing higher currency, death penalty etc.), immature behavior (11,000 man army, fleeing dressed as a woman etc) make it impossible for us to hold Ramdev in the same esteem as you do.

              – All this is just our opinion. We respect all difference in opinion & see no reason to delete any post.

              1. I read all those articles through which you formulated strong opinions against Ramdev.  I cant see anything wrong in collecting money from those who can afford it – there is no coercion. Money and organization are essential for spreading his movement and even political success.

My dad attented his yoga shivir for free – yes, the few front seats could be reserved for the sponsors but again generation of financial resources is paramount for a nascent socio-political movement – especially in this age of paid news where the ruling party has probably heavy influence, if not control of big media. Ultimately, personal austerity is very different from organizational austerity.

On a sidenote, Mother Teresa allegedly accepted donations from Charles Keating. That did not arouse the ire of the ‘secularists’. Neither did it prevent her from ascending to sainthood or her organization from being conferred high national honour. Why the double standards in case of Ramdev – ‘cos he is dressed in Saffron?

Any man in public life will have his share of detractors – but collective skepticism cannot be touted as fact which some news channels have been doing ever since Ramdev took on the government.

Finally, Ramdev was forced to declared his assets because there was a systematic campaign against his 1100 crore empire which has been through both donations and sound entrepreneurship. If he had not declared his assets, you would have accused him of hiding skeletons in his cupboard. Now that he has declared his assets, you find original sin in doing so. Hindus are damned if they do it, damned if they don’t. But on the flip-side, why no scanner on wealth generated and received by Islamic and Christian organizations. Perhaps, ‘cos we are a secular country

                1. finally, an apology for the scumbag comment which was provoked out of your transvestite  jab against Ramdev. Your clarification has set the record straight but I still hope you refrain from using it and employ better satire.  Humor need not be so crude and misleading

                  1. And finally, if I recall correctly that even Shanti Bhushan, who is no fan of Baba’s Yoga publicly supported the withdrawal of high denomination currency notes

In our country, a man who picks a pocket can spend 5 five years in jail and one who loots hundreds and thousands of crores will spend at max another two. All that looted wealth by the political thieves has caused misery, malnutrition, disease and almost famine like conditions in several parts of the country amongst the poor and weak. Why should such exceptional corruption not count amongst the rarest of rare crimes and be punishable at least by a lifeterm is something beyond my comprehension

                    1. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  Punishment based on severity of crime is definitely welcome. But there is a larger issue here. Ramdev himself said that 99% of the people gathered at Ramlila maidan were unaware of what ”inflation” is. Ramdev exploited this ignorance by creating a list of demands that were in reality impractical yet ones that would appeal to the masses. Numerous financial experts & economists in the country have outlined the methods to solve the black money issue. These include signing bilateral agreements with countries that are tax havens and changing India’s tax laws to prevent creation of black money. Ramdev’s simplistic methods are  those which would appeal to the masses. They are similar to rhetoric used by political parties to influence masses.

                    2. Incorrect. It was the Times of India which said that people following Ramdev did not understand the term inflation. They understand mehengai. It is hard to believe the govt. is sincere on the black money issue when its own leaders face such damning corruption charges. Google Subramanyam Swamy’s charges against the Congress high command. At last count, he was still a visiting economics professor to Harvard.

Creation of black money within India is a red herring since that money is principally of the nature of unpaid taxes while black money in foreign banks is largely corruption and loot.

                    3. The Times of India reported that Ramdev said this. http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2011-06-05/india/29622916_1_yoga-satyagraha-baba

Subramayam Swamy has done some excellent &  amazing work. However he is political & openly against the government like Ramdev. Enemy’s enemy is my friend. Getting the black money back is not as easy as Ramdev makes it sound. In all likelihood the Congress higher ups would be involved. If so , they should be rounded up & tried in court. However what is more plausible is the avoidance of creation of more black money. One needs to differentiate between tackling the black money problem & targeting a bunch of politicians. The former maybe better for the country while the latter maybe a better political move. Again, this is our opinion.

                  2. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus Wah Sarkar probably calls our leaders much worse so we are fine with any opinion that anyone holds against us.

                2. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  – As we said earlier, there is nothing wrong in Ramdev coming actively into politics and topping the government & even becoming the PM for that matter. However, if we feel he is making a fool of his followers (as was outlined in this article) or masquerading as a non-political person by being a part of the Hazare alliance, we will ridicule & mock him as we would do for any politician/political party.

                  – Even his declarations were done partly (only for trusts). His businesses are currently being scrutinized. The scrutiny may well be motivated. But it is definitely for the good. If a 1100 crore empire can be established legally in less than a decade, so be it. However we find this hard to believe. If without contesting elections, one wants to question & agitate against the government for ill-gotten money, one must at least be completely honest & righteous with regard to ones own finances. It is only natural for questions that you ask of others to be asked to you. Spurious islands & chartered planes for a sanyasi does smack of contradiction.

                  – At no point in this article or any other have we mentioned religion. We do not wish to harp on our neutrality but a glance through all our posts would provide a cross section of posts on persons of all religions.

                  1. What is spurious about an Island which was publicly donated to him by couple of his followers? Also, why you find it objectionable for Ramdev to teach Yoga to white men and women? He is only following the beaten path.

If he can afford a chartered plane, all the better since it saves the common man from the traffic jams every time a VIP political dignitary comes calling. The hallmark of a sanyasin is his mental detachment, not so much its physical counterpart. As the Gita says, ‘Equanimity amidst both hot and cold, pain and pleasure’  So employing a chartered plane by itself is not a contradiction. It would be sheer hypocrisy for Ramdev to travel by bullock cart to prove his austerity. I am glad that he put his time to better use than promoting some sham austerity. Did not Sarojini Naidu chide the Congress for making the Mahatma travel third class which actually proved more inconvenient and expensive than traveling in the first class. Also, I am sure you are too intelligent to realize that Baba is not going to make front page headlines for travelling in a local train.

                    1. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  Maybe even Vijay Mallya is an ascetic in that case. Who knows what sort of ”mental detachment” he has. It’s just a difference of opinion.

                    2. Let Mallya stop selling booze, shed his Armanis for Sanyasin cloth, and adopt a celibate life and then he will also earn his ascetic stripes. I am sure he is not interested

Also, a sanyasin need not be an ascetic. Its a misconception

                    3. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  – So wearing a sanyasin cloth & abstaining from alcohol are now important trademarks of a sanyasi. Whereas travelling by chartered planes, owning islands & charging millions are also acceptable. Do you realize that you are contradicting yourself???

                  2. In the public sphere, no citizen can be entirely apolitical. The word is a contradiction per se in a democracy. Ramdev was never part of Team Anna, and his ambitions were much larger than the enactment of a mere Lokpal. If he had no supported Anna, people would have accused him of ego hassles and selective commitment in fighting corruption despite Ramdev actually opening the civil society fight against corruption. When he did share stage with Anna, he was accused of attempting to steal Anna’s thunder and subverting the anti-corruption movement

Ramdev is apolitical to the extent he does not covet any political post, atleast not yet. That he wants honest people with clean records as candidates is most welcome

                    1. @669b39f409825ecb3a6d79292891c2d1:disqus  Ramdev had at one point decided to contest every LS seat in the country. He then decided to join India Against Corruption, which still displays him as a founding member. If he is confident of his superiority in thought, action & public support then there is nothing that should stop him from contesting elections & coming into power.
