What is the point in comparing the total votes casted across the country or the total votes casted in 5 states with the with explicit support in one single city? What inference can be drawn from that?
Incidentally, if you just want to score points in trying to show that the Anna movement is absolutely insignificant, you could have also thrown in the gatherings in each kumbh mela that we have every twelve years.
Part of Team Anna’s rhetoric has been drawing inferences about their mass popularity based on the size of crowds who gather for the fasts. As mentioned in the post, in the past they have stressed that they have ‘mass support’ of the country and hence they represent India’s ambitions. Unfortunately this has been lapped up by many due to the accompanying media hype. The comparisons just serve to show that looking at the numbers in perspective to the size of the country, it doesn’t really matter or nor whether they have 5,000 or 50,000 people participating this time. In the larger picture, it is irrelevant to stake claim to have a direct and coercive say in policy making based on the premise that a few thousand have come out in support even if it is in the nation’s capital in from of the ever present media.
Team Anna is Ignoring the 41.7 crore Indian’s who election the Parliament by his vote. Democracy gives right to people raise there demand, and Government have to consider.

1. farmers are forced to sell potato @ 5RS KG, same potatos goes to multplexes samos @ RS 25.
2. Villagers had to travel miles to catch buses, or get sharing jeep, loaded with double capacity.
3. when crop comes it takes days to sell our crop, on top of that Sharad Pawar has banned rice export, so we are forced to sell crop on low prices.
4. in last 25 years rice in market is rise from rs 5/kg to Rs 40/kg, but crop rates rise only from 500/quintal to 800/quintal.
5. low rainfall and draught situation make less productivity, year by year. do not get any government support for irrigation.
6. to sell crop farmers have to be in queue from early morning 4 am, around 10.30 only 20% farmers get entry to APMC.
7. to get payment farmer first suppose to deposit 10-15% amount of his crop earnings, then only his payments get released from APMC

Sir, I am worried about Anna’s Fast. He is another adamant person who does’nt seem to understand. The Lokpal bill is in the RS from where it has to be passed. Last time every one saw what ruckus was created by BJP and other parties. How can he, then, blame the Government? Why cant he understand this simple fact? If something happens to him there will be a blood bath. Police and the Public will clash. Several innocent people will be injured / Killed. After three / Four days everything will be under control and after one year everything will be forgotton. Finally what did Anna Gain? Nothing ‘Xcept his ill-health or death due to fasting at this age. Why can’t some put this into his thick head? Now Team Anna is Giving a call to the students to participate in this agitation by applying leave for a week from the College. Is this correct? I do not see the connection at all.
To show how minuscule this following is, you may have missed the following also:
1. Total population of the Word.
2. The number of molecules on Earth.
3. The number of molecules elsewhere.

I am not a member of any forum neither do I dabble in politics. I’m a old man who wants to live
his final days in peace, which I’m scared may not happen if you are politically connected.
I do retain my right of discretion, though and the following is not understood:
1. How many ‘Systemic Procedures’ have succeeding in reducing corruption?
(I’m sure this also wont, but it is different and questions the system that has failed
not just you and me but the future too by compromising the very elements and the air
below your and my feet and what we breathe and our next gens are going to.)
2.What is wrong in asking your corporator or MLA to be reelected if he fails to have the
garbage in your area removed effectively in the way it is meant to be by the tax you pay
rather than fight and publish sites / blogs like this?
(There are major issues also like the traffic, water, schooling, policing, noise and air pollution, blatent prices of auto rickshaws!I face these daily and my MLA / corporator does not bother about me or the other 5oo,ooo living with me in his “Jagir”. You seem to live in an Utopian Place where the system runs to each of your squeal? Find all of us and me a place too, unless you are politically motivated.)
3. Even if Anna and his team fail miserably which the political class who have benefited from what he is fighting for, why is it not seen that he has raised awareness of the next gen to levels that would not have happened?
(Is the Government running a school of a college curriculum on how to complain if you are wronged by the ministers? Or are you educating the public at large by this blog, so that people can redress their problems from the “System” that has a wonderful mechanism which will at one call from your child or to be born, will clear garbage from the roads, clear traffic in a jiffy and grant him/ her admission to the best school or college fairly, clear the air & water of pollutants so that tomorrow s/he will be able to drink water from any Government tap instead of buying ‘bottled water’ at unregulated prices?)
4. The desperation of the “Ruling Class” not as in politics, but as in “Any one who has a toe hold in earning any bit of black money in a secure manner from any where” to put down team Anna is amazing. So why do you not debate it with them on the stage or in media or here on your blog one on one by issues and not rhetoric?
(Is that so because you are trying to get a following by riding this wave? Or are you politically connected? Or You do not have the ‘time’ ? Or you do not have the knowledge to do so? Or do you know that they are correct in what they are asking for? If none of these are true, then are you deliberately or unknowingly falling prey to some other mechanics?)
In fact even if these guys called Team Anna fail, they have made a a very major dent in the progress of corruption in the way it was going and educated youngsters of the future to keep their options open.
Future generations, now educated by the lets say for the moment, ‘failed activism’ of team Anna, will I am sure come up with better and better ideas to deal with corruption, even if they do not all succeed.
In fact even if all such attempts fail continuously in the future too, collectively they would have made a major change.
Another very major change is that the voters have become much more demanding and that Will change things to some extent also.
So what is the harm if Anna’s team and followers are not even as many as the electrons in a molecule?
They my dear friend they may be the last existing and the final Oxygen molecule that may regenerate hope of a cleaner environs where your kids will have a better future or else you may not have time or money to pay for the BSNL and elctricity bill to run you such like blog unless you are part of a dirty laundry cleaning black money.

Part of Team Anna’s rhetoric has been drawing inferences about their mass popularity based on the size of crowds who gather for the fasts. As mentioned in the post, in the past they have stressed that they have ‘mass support’ of the country and hence they represent India’s ambitions. Unfortunately this has been lapped up by many due to the accompanying media hype. The comparisons just serve to show that looking at the numbers in perspective to the size of the country, it doesn’t really matter or nor whether they have 5,000 or 50,000 people participating this time. In the larger picture, it is irrelevant to stake claim to have a direct and coercive say in policy making based on the premise that a few thousand have come out in support even if it is in the nation’s capital in from of the ever present media. Incidentally, Team Anna continues to coax people to join them at the protest.
Also you mix far more complicated economic and political reforms with this farcical fast. Even if Janlokpal is enacted as Team Anna wants it, no one can stop a political party from giving a ticket to a murder accused to contest elections.

It is absurd to count the crowd and compare differnet events .You can not expect empty stomach poor man to participate in any event. Man is selfish by nature and have to use all means legal or illegal to survive. It is the responsibility of the Govt. to punish the wrong doers and ensure that public servant is accountable for his actions. That is what Anna’s movement is demanding.
